Wagner, Wigton and Thorsen Exposition at Lauritzen Gardens
100 Bancroft Street, Omaha, NE
Tuesday, April 2, 2013 -
Sunday, May 19, 2013
This trio of artists (painters Martie Wagner and JK Thorsen and photographer/painter Robert Wigton, M.D.) have worked together outdoors and on-site for over a year, producing a body of art that tells a story of our region.
Martie Wagner is a Nebraska painter long engaged in attempting to portray the stillness at the heart of the bright dance. In her new landscape series she focuses on the dance itself in all its extravagance, energy and joy.
Dr. Robert Wigton is a Nebraska native. He uses photography and painting to recall and celebrate the colors and beauty he finds outdoors in Nebraska's gardens and countryside.
JK Thorsen's requisite is in the process. Her need to create originates from experiences, relationships and "nature". Her growth & challenges are in the field, in her unheated workshop and with her art. With her recent work, she hopes to include a feeling of invitation.
The exhibition opens April 2 and runs through May 19 at Lauritzen Gardens, 100 Bancroft St., Omaha, Neb.
