The Gifford-Truhlsen Eye Research Conference is a day-long event that features short talks by eye researchers at UNMC as well as the Bernstein-Kroon Memorial Lecture at 3:45pm: Keeping cones alive when the rods are dying. Robert E. (Gene) Anderson, M.D., Ph.D., Dean McGee Professor of Ophthalmology, George Lynn Cross Research Professor, and Director of Research in the Department of Ophthalmology and Dean McGee Eye Institute at the University of Oklahoma.

Due to illness, Dr. Gene Anderson will not be able to present the Bernstein-Kroon Memorial Lecture at the Gifford-Truhlsen conference on June 12, at 3:45 p.m. In his place, Dr. Peter Kador will be presenting the Ernest H. Barany Lecture: Development of Pharmaceutical Treatments for Age-Related Ocular Diseases.
